Cycling Garden Room with storage
One benefit of a custom build from Vivid Green is that we can work with you to design bespoke storage solutions…

Our client in Ascot is a keen cyclist and was in need of space for both the secure storage of his road bikes and also a convenient indoor cycling room for training on rainy days.
To ensure a suitable foundation, we carried out some minor groundwork to remove the existing unsuitable concrete slab and level the ground, and then with the help of our foundation partners StopDigging, we came up with a solution to ensure a suitable foundation – still using the galvanised steel ground screws.

Custom Storage Solutions
One benefit of a custom build from Vivid Green is that we can work with you to design bespoke storage solutions that are specific to your needs. In this case, our client had a collection of road bikes which needed to be hung out of the way, safely.
Our solution was to create a ‘secret’ concealed storage section, with reinforced interior walls which would be strong enough to hang multiple bikes safely from on brackets, without causing damage to the building. This also kept the main ‘living area’ of the garden room clear of clutter.
Although there was simple side access to the side of the client’s property for our materials and installers – the house was located on a very narrow street, which made it difficult for lorries to gain access. As a result, materials had to be carried 50 meters down the street by hand!
One photo here shows the client’s old green shed which was removed and replaced with built-in storage, allowing the full width of the garden to be utilised.
Lots of glass, means lots of light!
Sliding doors were added to both sides of the cycling room, opening out into the garden and also onto the composite decking to provide easy access – and to maximise the space on warmer days/evenings. Stylish aluminium frames compliment the Western Red Cedar cladding perfectly. A popular choice with many of our clients!
In total, including the additional groundwork – the build took just three weeks to construct from start to finish.
