Versatile spaces with a multitude of options
In Essex, we designed this Garden room gym with extra height for overhead workouts – making the building 2.85m high. This did mean that we had to seek planning permission – as permitted development regulations are limited to 2.5m – however, we handled the entire planning process. Minimising the client’s risk and removing any problems.
The installation included a number of bespoke requirements including the ceiling bars, specialist flooring and climate control.
The ceiling bars (reinforced and suitable for use with TRX), are much easier to fit at the point of build because we can ensure they are well supported. Two flooring types were specified. A soft rubber gym flooring in the weights area, and a hard laminate flooring for the aerobic area and equipment. Any combination of flooring types are possible! Finally, there was a feature-rich climate control unit was positioned on the rear elevation, just right of a large mirrored wall.
Fit for purpose garden room gyms
The finished gym has a crisp white render giving the building a modern feel. The interior was finished with chrome up and LED downlighters that keep the ceiling clear for overhead work. These are all on dimmer switches so that various types of ambience can be created for different types of workouts. Evening yoga anyone?
The exterior shows a trapezoid shape of the building, which was chosen to maximise floorspace in the gym, as well as, making the most of the garden space available.
The interior shots show the final look after the gym equipment was installed. The result has added a very useable garden gym room, that enhances the client’s active lifestyle whilst adding value and aesthetic to the property.
