Summerhouses have become very popular but most appear to be rarely used. With no insulation and a large area of single glazing, these buildings are very cold in Winter and unpleasantly hot in Summer. We thought there would be demand for a small structure which could be used year round and, using our design principles, have come up with The Winterhouse.

It is actually the small sized Penthouse with a pitched roof but differs from most Summerhouses by having:

• 78-128mm of insulation in the walls
• 128-153mm of insulation in the roof
• double glazed windows and door
• electric underfloor heating
• a pyramid shaped triple skinned rooflight.

It is a delightful space and, because of all these features, can be used year round, even in mid Winter. Ideal as a small office, The Winterhouse can equally serve as a retreat, artists studio, playroom or dining area.
